A hanging lantern with a hand-carved, veined white alabaster 'basket' shade, mounted with brass shields and suspended by slender hooks and a milled canopy. Each hook is wrapped in leather cord, and two leather tassels descend through an opening at the base of the alabaster shade. The fixture's design evokes the baskets woven by Ariadne to store grapes for the Greek god Dionysus. UL listed.
